A Heavenly Kiss From Bouguereau
Heavenly Kiss by Esstera, featuring two Bouguereau angels. Click for source.
This image is a wonderful mix of digital photography and classic paintings, created by visual artist Esstera, and published on deviantArt. The reading woman on the picture was photographed with a digital camera, while the two angels have been taken from two different Bouguereau paintings. The kiss-blowing angel was borrowed from Bouguereau’s 1892 work Le Guêpier (The Wasp’s Nest), while the angel that remains half hidden behind the tree comes from the 1891 painting Le Travail Interrompu (Work Interrupted). Below you can find them in their original context:
Both paintings have been used in many more contemporary digital versions. Click each to visit the galleries where they are exhibited.
