This portrait of British singer Amy Winehouse [wiki] was created by mateusarc for the 12th edition of the Modern Renaissance contest on Worth1000. Digital artists were challenged to “put any modern celebrity, actor or popular culture figure as a substitute for the model of a painting or other form of artwork“. The contest drew no less than 65 entries, two of which were Remastered Bouguereaus. The portrait of Amy Winehouse is a contemporary version of William Bouguereau’s famous 1890 painting Bohémienne (The Bohemian).
