In June 2010, Worth1000 challenged digital artists to “use your photomanipulation skillz, take a celebrity image and depict them as some sort of godlike entity“. The fourth edition of this Celebrity Gods contest drew 26 entries, one of which was a Remastered Bouguereau, shown above.

The image, entitled The Birth of Meryl depicts actress Meryl Streep as the Goddess of Love, and is based on Bouguereau’s famous 1879 painting Naissance de Venus (Birth of Venus). The maker is Shorra, who scored #8 in the votes.
