Bouguereau Becomes Prize-Winning Graffiti Artist

Are classical art and modern graffiti worlds apart? To purists they probably are; to the rest they’re just crying out to be brought together. At least that was the idea behind a Graffiti Ren contest on Worth1000.com in November 2009. Digital artists (at beginners level) were challenged to add modern-style graffiti to classical artworks. No less than four of the 32 entries were Remastered Bouguereaus. Two of them were winners; they are the first two shown below. GraffitiGirl by Buzz11 took silver, and Vandals by Lacyxxx won the bronze medal.
