The comic stories of Calvin and Hobbes [wiki] follow the humorous antics of Calvin, an imaginative six-year old boy, and Hobbes, his energetic and sardonic stuffed tiger. The strip was syndicated daily from 1985 to 1995. At its height, Calvin and Hobbes was featured in over 2,400 newspapers worldwide. More than 30 million copies of the Calvin and Hobbes books had been sold.
Shown above Calvin and Hobbes are taking a little rest in a Remastered Bouguereau, featuring the French painter’s 1878 work La Charité (Charity). It was created by digital artist torgar for a Cartoon Ren contest on Worth1000, in November 2009. It wasn’t a prize winner, but it remains a lovely creation.
