Poser is 3D rendering software, specially developed to create 3D human models, better known as Poser figures. The software comes with its own models, but many other companies have developed their own range of figures. Two of them are Matt and Maddie, developed by DAZ 3D.

American digital artist bishop2z3z incorporated Matt and Maddie in this sweet First Kiss, posted on DeviantArt, and inspired by Bouguereau’s 1889 work L’Amour et Psyche, enfants (Cupid and Psyche as Children, usually referred to as First Kiss), which is shown in the backdrop. In the artist’s own words:

“With this piece, as I look at it, I feel that I did capture some of the emotional content of the original, but I also added my own spin. Originally I was going to make my image very similar to the original First Kiss, only changing the races of the children, but I felt that I should do more. Being inspired to use a more modern setting, I came up with this image. Another factor for this work is that the Poser / DAZ 3D characters Matt and Maddie are underused.”
