Most Remastered Bouguereaus on this site are elaborate works created by digital and traditional artists with an eye for detail. The one shown above is an exception. It’s a stencil created by lootsvele, and published on Flickr. In her own words:
“A stencil I created from a beautiful picture by one of my favortite artists, William Bouguereau. I traced the areas I liked onto a piece of vellum, then used a bone folder to transfer the image onto a piece of cardstock. I used an E-xacto knife to cut out the unwanted areas.”
The result is a fully recognizable Bouguereau, trimmed down to the absolute minimum. Below you can compare the original work and the full stencil.
