On April 29, 2010 American actress Uma Thurman hit the big four zero. Thurman started modelling at the age of fifteen, before making her film debut, aged 18, in teen comedy Johnny Be Good. In the same year (1988), she appeared in three more films, including Dangerous Liaisons and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. Later, Thurman has permanently ingrained herself in popular culture consciousness via roles in two Tarantino movies; first as the femme fatale Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction, then as the bloodied bride Beatrix Kiddo in Kill Bill 1 & 2. It is for those performances that Tarantino stated that she is “up there with Garbo and Dietrich in goddess territory“.

In celebration of Uma’s 40th birthday, FreakingNews challenged digital artists to photoshop her any way they wished. The contest drew 24 entries, one of which was a Remastered Bouguereau. The entry, created by Scotsman johnx1 won the third prize. His portrait, entitled Pretty Girl, is based on Bouguereau’s famous 1890 work Portrait de Gabrielle Cot (Portrait of Gabrielle Cot). Below you can compare the two versions. Click the first to visit the gallery where you will find many other celebrities in Bouguereau-disguise. Click the second to view Pretty Girl on FreakingNews.
