In February 2007, photoshop site FreakingNews challenged digital artists to “add a romantic Valentine’s Day theme to old famous paintings”. The contest drew many Remastered Bouguereaus, including the one shown here. Created by gali from Skopje, Macedonia, it’s a very flowery version of Bouguereau’s Jeune Fille se Defendant Contre L’amour (Young Girl Defending herself against Cupid, 1880).
